Grameenphone

Grameenphone is one of the best mobile network operators in Bangladesh. This is a limited company founded in 1997 and it is the first GSM technology based mobile network operator in the country. Now the company has 50 million subscribers (as of October 2014). Grameenphone is the largest Telecommunication company in Bangladesh and it is the sister concern of Norway based telecommunication company Telenor. Telenor owns 55.8% shares; Grameen Telecom owns 34.2% shares and public held remaining 10% shares.

Grameenphone headquarters located Basundhara, Baridhara of Dhaka City. Grameenphone enlisted in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) as symbol GP and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) as symbol GP. Grameenphone SIM number: 017XXXXXXXX where 017 prefix provided by Government for Grameenphone and rest of XXXXXXXX digits subscribers number. Present Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grameenphone is Rajeev Sethi.

Services:

Grameenphone is providing telecommunication service in Bangladesh. It has pre-paid and post-paid services with voice call, voice sms, sms, internet and value added services (VAS). It has a youth based mobile connectivity service called djuice.

Pre-paid Packages: Nishchinto, Amontron, Shohoj, Bondhu, Aapon, Smile, Spondon, djuice and Business Solution prepaid

Post-paid Packages: Xplore, Xplore Legend, PCO Packages, Village Phone, and GP Public Phone.
2G/3G: Grameenphone is providing 2G and 3G service though their network. With 3G people can use fast internet, video call etc.

Internet: With Grameenphone internet service customer can use internet by their Smartphone. With Grameenphone internet connection customer can use internet on desktop/laptop by using a modem.
