Twelve Years a Slave is a 2013 British-American historical drama film based on an incredible true story of one black man’s for survival and freedom by Solomon Northup. In the pre-civil war United States, Solomon Northup was kidnapped in Washington D.C. and sold into slavery. Solomon struggles not only to sty alive, but also retain his dignity in the slavery for cruelty and unexpected kindness.
